Science Spectrum

Our friend Lesley let us go to the Science Spectrum as a friend on her annual pass. This was a Christmas gift from a family member and I think that was an awesome idea by the way!!! Anyway, last time we went, Emily is months younger, but still had fun. I remember a certain big sister saying that Emily would love it when she was older, and she was right! Emily had a great time looking at the fish in the aquariums (the reef was her favorite) and playing with all the toys in the play room. Apparently the water display had been closed for a while, but it opened while we were there. We must have been super lucky. Thanks Lesley for a fun outing!

Bossy Santas and Cute Little Girls

I am a little kid at Christmas time. My tree was up a week before Thanksgiving. I know, I know... let's not take away from Thanksgiving, but I didn't call it a Christmas tree until after the turkey was eaten... does that count?
Emily had a blast helping me decorate this year and yes I let her help. It was a blast. I think she is going to love Christmas as much as her Mom!

We went to visit Santa again this year at Holland Gardens and we will not be going back. He is the probably the most 'real' looking Santa, but he is sooo bossy. After he started in on us this year about how to approach him with Emily, how to move, where to stand, when to take pics, etc. He told us what was wrong with our daughter (really she wanted her snack cup back, he swore it was him) and when the pictures were done. SOOO we got a lot of pics with John trying to not to be rude and Emily looking at the tree next to Santa... Not a success!

Another reason Holland Gardens wasn't any good this year (this is the same place we went last year and where we took our Christmas card pic) was because my camera is still smarter than me and out of the 155 pics I took while we were there, about 5 were in focus. I need some serious camera lessons!

Tomorrow my mother gets to town and we are going to go to Santa Land. I am hoping it is fun and gives us some more photo opportunities. We will see!

Goodbye Matadors, Hello life?

There have been a few changes in my life lately. No job, more time with Emily... but the biggest of these is a renewed, lasting happiness. Even though John and I have experienced a lot of changes, things are much better than they used to be. I will be trying to understand all this newness in a new blog Brown Study. I am hoping to understand things better here and get input from my friends. I read the last post (which I realize what a long long time ago) and I see the lack of excitement and happiness I thought I was feeling. To me, rereading it, seems like it was full of anxiety and worry. I am through with those emotions. It is time to experience joy and peace. That is my new goal. If you want to know how I go about reaching my goal, that is what the other blog is about. If that sounds terrible (which is totally fine!!) then all the regular stuff will be here with pictures of my adorable daughter!
