Big Steps

Last night Emily decided to take her first wobbly steps towards being a toddler. For the last few days she has been standing by herself for extended periods of time. Last night she was holding on the a chair in the living room and John said, "Emily, come here." So she did. She turned around and walked four solid steps. Probably more solid that my first steps in the morning! He put her back at the chair and asked her to do it again. I think we were a little in disbelief. She did. It was this point he reminded me videos are a great thing. Of course by the time I got the phone out, she was tired and wobbly, but you can get the idea!

Emily has decided her first word is Momma! No, I didn't get this one on video. I will blame it on the whole disbelief thing again. It is one of the cutest things when she comes crawling down the hallway saying momma momma momma over and over again!

She is growing up so fast. I went through some old pictures tonight while I waited for the pictures to upload and she has changed so much. I am going to take her one year photos soon so y'all can see what I am talking about! I had no idea. :)

We are gearing up to celebrate Emily's big first birthday in several weeks! I know it seems like a long way away (6 weeks) but with school starting and getting ready for the new year, it will be here before I know it!
